Community Consolidated School District 21 ended its fiscal year 2023 with the highest designation from the Illinois State Board of Education for its financial management, according to an audit prepared by consulting firm Baker Tilly.
“District 21 has continued to meet its budget goals,” the audit read. “By analyzing the need for spending and committing to its priorities, the district has continued to build surpluses without undermining the education program.”
Among other highlights, Baker Tilly credited the district for continuing to move forward with additional capital improvements that “have positively impacted the educational program of the district,” including a number of playground and bathroom projects completed during the fiscal year.
